‘ Mother’s Day ’

Mother’s Day is a very special day for me . It reminds me of a mother’s sacrifices in bringing up her children . A mother does not just give birth to the child but also nurtures the child . She gives the child food so that he can grow up big and strong . When the child falls sick , the mother stays up nto look after him and cradles him to sleep although she is tired herself .

Besides physical needs , a mother also disciplines the child so that he will learn responsibility and differentiate between right and wrong . When a child feels frustrated , the mother will be there to lend a sympathetic ear . When he is discouraged and confused , she will give encouragement and advice . She will always be there for him for she loves him for what he is .

To show my appreciation for my mother , I would give her little presents from time to time-nothing expensive ; maybe some flowers , home-made cards or cook her simple meals and of course , help her with the household chores . I believe these will be more meaningful than to wait until Mother’s Day before showing how much I love her
